Witton Gilbert Nursery is an independent nursery operating within Witton Gilbert Primary School. Their room and outside areas were revamped in 2018 and they enjoy their own designated outdoor space enhancing free-flow flexible learning. Witton Gilbert Nursery work within the guidelines of Development Matters in the Early Years Foundation Stage, offering early years education to 3 and 4 year olds.
In December 2021 Witton Gilbert Nursery was graded good by OFSTED
The nursery takes children from the term after they are 3 years old, where vacancies are available. We offer 15 hours a week of free nursery education (in line with current entitlement) but also offer extended hours for children who qualify, up to a maximum of 30 hours a week. Our sessions for 15 hours runs from 9 – 12 and 12 – 3, sessions for the 30 hours are 8 – 12 and 12 – 4.
Children’s details can be placed on our waiting list during the academic year that your child turns 2 years old. Please email or phone Mrs Markwell with the following details:
- Name of child
- Full postal address, including postcode.
- Child’s date of birth
- A contact telephone number
You will be contacted the term before your child is due to attend nursery, this will allow us to make arrangements and share information about day-to-day processes before your child begins their learning journey. More details about nursery are available on the Ofsted website or you can contact the Nursery manager, Lynn Markwell.
